Overview

Course Overview:

This 2-day intensive CBCT Masterclass is designed to provide dental professionals with the foundational knowledge and practical skills necessary to confidently interpret, review, and report cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) scans. Participants will learn CBCT imaging principles, anatomy interpretation, risk management considerations, and structured reporting techniques to improve diagnostic accuracy and reduce liability. Through hands-on instruction, real-world case reviews, and guided interpretation exercises, attendees will gain a systematic approach to identifying critical findings, understanding referral protocols, and implementing defensible CBCT workflows in clinical practice.

Key Learning Objectives:

  1. Understand the fundamental principles of CBCT imaging and its clinical applications in dentistry.
  2. Differentiate CBCT imaging from traditional panoramic imaging and recognize appropriate use cases.
  3. Identify critical anatomical landmarks and interpret axial, sagittal, and coronal CBCT views.
  4. Recognize common pathological findings and determine when referral to a specialist is indicated.
  5. Understand the legal and ethical responsibilities associated with CBCT interpretation and reporting.
  6. Implement structured reporting protocols to improve documentation consistency and diagnostic communication.
  7. Apply systematic workflows for reviewing CBCT scans to improve efficiency and diagnostic confidence.
  8. Utilize CBCT technology to enhance patient care, reduce clinical risk, and improve treatment outcomes.

Attendee Requirements:

Participants are required to bring a laptop computer for the hands-on training portion of the course. A laptop equipped with a USB port is strongly recommended to allow practice of CBCT cases to be loaded directly onto the participant’s desktop for guided interpretation and reporting exercises.
